Nestled by the Kumeu River, only 25mins from Auckland City, just a few minutes from State Highway 16, Azur Farm is close to some of the best local wineries, local cafes, West Coast surfing beaches, and Woodhill forest bike and horse riding park.
Kumeu is a growing community with a history of providing orchard fruits & vegetable produce, along with being home to some of the best equestrian facilities and producing international performance horses in various equestrian fields.
Azur Farm was purchased by Fiona Mead in 2002 and has been nurtured using Biodynamic Farming and Gardening principles. It is currently home to 4 horses, 1 pony, 5 sheep, 1 ram + baby lambs, 20+ chickens, 3 cats & a dog.
It continues to be developed with riding facilities and gardens being upgraded. Current projects include; fencing and completing the new tack room and horse undercover area.
Fiona's vision for Azur Farm is to have it as a training facility for healthy options and well being of both animals and people. There is a tight bond between humans and animals. Both can assist each other to overcome life challenges and build positive results out of negative experiences. For many people it is easier to trust and open up to animal than it is a human. Issues of insecurities and having personal boundaries can be explored and defined more easily when assessed and worked upon, with the aid of horses. Our flight, fight and freeze responses when confronted by something uncontrollable can also be reflected by a horse. Its like they hold a mirror for us to see our own reflection and then nurture us to redefine our responses, into more contemplated actions. Relaxation in a natural setting assists us to feel safe to explore our deepest conditionings and mindset so our thoughts become more harmonious and working for our good, rather than our demise.
A collage of lifestyle and farm work - some call it a life-sentence, while others think of it as living with purpose.
Animals and nature show us how to take time out of our busy schedules and achieve closeness & intimacy for ourselves. When we stop and make time for 'being', we allow ourselves to feel more deeply and synthesis our experiences into wholeness. By embracing and loving our experiences, rather than feeling shame and guilt, we transcend the experience and find the gold within. But without the experience, we would never have the opportunity to find the gold...make time... to take time out... to find your GOLD.
Physical work that supports your healthy lifestyle, enables deep sleep, knowing you are supplying your own needs and producing abundance to give to others too.
We are after all spiritual beings, having a human experience - embrace all that your life experiences offer you - you will never be here in this moment again.
The only present is being in the now.
"To have what we desire for our future self, we need to become that future self and live from there, not from who we are currently."
Wonderful things are all around us, if only we get up early enough & open our eyes and minds to discover them.
Being open to play and being creative in a positive way have been shown to be healthy for resilience and being able to be open with others.
After a hard day's work, with a sense of achievement, it very easy to relax and then fall into a deep sleep.
During deep sleep our bodies regenerate and our mind defragments and processes our experiences. The different stages of sleep are important in their own ways to achieve this.
